The Role of the Federal Government:
As the government had the essential power to enforce change amongst all American, as well as they had the means to adjust and develop the minds of the citizens; their help and support could attach a huge importance to the Civil Right Movement.
The presidents, as the highest public figure in governemtn and therefore very powerful when it comes to making a diffrence, were crucial for the cooperation with civil protesters like Martin Luther King Jr.
Directly involved were several presidents, but considered as most important in this issue are John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson. Therefore, only those two are mentioned here.
